Sex trafficking.
Not Thailand. Or the Philippines. Or Russia.
America.
Rich or poor, black or white, girls disappear across this country every day, pulled into the nightmarish world of prostitution and drugs.
Mex Anderson is back, tasked with finding three missing girls before it’s too late. Three girls. Three girls who could live in your town, your neighborhood, or in your own home.
Jayla Imani Thomas is fifteen. A smart kid from a poor part of town who has to fend for herself. Jayla is headed for college and a better life than her mother had.
Alexis Emily Halston is seventeen. Money provides everything she wants or needs except functional parents. Alexis has the world by the tail and she knows it.
Olivia Emma Campbell is twelve. She’s a middle child who dreams of being a veterinarian when she grows up. But right now “Livvy” just wants someone to notice her, maybe even to love her.
Caught up in a cruel system fueled by lust and money, all three young women must find the courage within themselves to survive. And Mex must come to terms with his own loss and face his demons head on—or he might not have the strength to save them.

I read Trafficked a while ago, but it's the type of story that is so vivid, so tragic it stays with you -- well, forever. Peg Brantley deftly shows the horrors of Human Trafficking; that greed, corruption and betrayal know no bounds no matter what kind of world you live in. Her protagonist, Mex Anderson and his team, skillfully and compassionately investigate these cases, and as I got to know Jayla, Alexis and Olivia, I thought there by the grace of God go I. Jayla trusting a friend, Alexis wealthy -- her father can buy anything -- Olivia hooks up with someone she thought loved her. (Yeah, right). Although not explicit, Ms. Brantley doesn't soften what happens when children are abducted, and age or gender has nothing to do with it.A must read.

TRAFFICKED A Mex Anderson Novel edition by Peg Brantley Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
This is a great novel. What I liked most was The fax intertwined in the story. It is hard to believe that human trafficking actually happens, but it does and we need to open our eyes to it.
Peg Bartley's book is full of action and intense drama about four young people caught up in trafficking. Mex Anderson partners up with other unique personalities in page-turning rescue attempts. A well informed and written tragedy.
I can't say it's a joy to read. It's incredibly sad to imagine people are treated this way. However, this book had me riveted to the end. Because author Brantley allowed me to know the characters, I was routing for them. I learned a lot I didn't know. I now pray about something I didn't before and for people I may never know.
Peg Brantley has done an excellent job in bringing the horror of human trafficking to a novel that is full of factual lead-ins from official government and news reports. The monsters who lure or kidnap and then trade young women as well as small girls and boys to sexual predators are now the targets of multiple law enforcement agencies, and so are those who victimize these kids. Not only is the novel good writing, but it helps bring this evil out into the open. Highly recommended.
Trafficked is a well written and well researched book. The nuggets of information at the beginning of each chapter grab your attention and make you think about how pervasive this particular form of evil is. It was a difficult book to read, being about sex trafficking of young children, but impossible to put down. The characters, from the children who were put into the sex trade to the people trying to rescue them, were well drawn and sympathetic. I had not previously read a book by Peg Brantley, but this will not be the last one.
Who would willingly hurt a child? No one? This book, beautifully written, is about people who would hurt a child and think nothing of it. It's about three children (fictional) and how they come to be bought and sold and rescued (because this book is fiction).
Little by little we come to know about child trafficking.
This book is fine fine reading. I couldn't put it down. Peg Brantley has done an amazing job of telling a difficult story.
Lovely, sad, tearfully story. Heartbreaking well told. So close to true stories, success is a huge victory. I really felt for the victims, their lives forever changed.
Absolutely love Mex, Cade and Darius. What a team!! You can be right beside them every step of the way. I just hope I can sleep after reading this gripping book. It's great to read a book where there is so much danger present but this team rarely uses bad language or bullets.
